Billboard Music Awards 2021 usai digelar di Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, pada Minggu 23 Mei 2021 waktu Amerika, atau Senin 24 Mei waktu Indonesia. Ajang penghargaan bergengsi bagi insan musik ini dipandu Nick Jonas.
Dalam Billboard Music Awards 2021, lagu Dynamite BTS terpilih menjadi Top Selling Song. Dalam kategori itu, BTS mengalahkan lagu I Hope (Gabby Barrett feat Charlie Puth), Blinding Lights (The Weeknd), WAP (Cardi B ft. Megan Thee Stallion) serta Savage (Megan Thee Stallion ft. Beyonce).
BTS juga terpilih menjadi pemenang kategori Top/Duo Group Billboard Music Awards 2021. Di kategori tersebut, grup idol asal Korea Selatan tersebut mengalahkan band rock legendaris asal Australia, AC/DC. Mereka juga menaklukkan Maroon 5, AJR, dan Dan + Shay.
Selain itu BTS juga mengalahkan penyanyi solo asal Kanada, Justin Bieber dalam kategori Top Song Sales Artist. Di kategori tersebut juga terdapat bintang yang tengah naik daun lainnya, The Weeknd.
Grup yang dimotori V, Jungkook, Jimin, Suga, Jin, RM, dan J-Hope tersebut juga dalam ajang Billboard Music Awards 2021 terpilih menjadi Top Social Artist dengan meraih vote paling banyak dari penggemar. Di kategori tersebut, BTS mengalahkan nama besar industri K-Pop lainnya seperti BLACKPINK dan SEVENTEEN. Ariana Grande juga harus mengakui kepopuleran BTS tahun ini.
Tak hanya menyabet sederet penghargaan bergengsi, BTS juga tampil membawakan lagu terbarunya Butter di ajang Billboard Music Awards 2021. Ketujuh member BTS tampil dalam setelan hitam. Mereka tampil dari Seoul, Korea Selatan.
